Everything you need to crop, resize and compress

  • Presets for every platform

Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Etsy and Steam. Pick a preset and get the exact pixel size.

  • Rotate, flip, straighten

Turn by 90° or straighten a crooked horizon at any angle, with an alignment grid over the frame.

  • Auto-trim borders

Remove transparent or solid-colour margins around screenshots, logos and product photos in one click.

  • Compress to a target size

Need it under 500 KB? Set the limit and CropMe finds the highest quality that fits.

  • Precise control

Enter exact pixels, percent or millimetres for print, lock proportions, undo and redo, keyboard shortcuts.

  • Works offline

Install CropMe as an app. After the first visit it keeps working without a connection, and you can print the result.

Your images stay on your device

CropMe does the work in your browser, in a background worker. There is no upload, no server-side storage and no account. Location, camera and date metadata are removed from the file you download, and the editor shows you exactly what was stripped. You can check it yourself: open DevTools → Network and watch that no image ever leaves the page.

The only exception is “Crop from URL”. That image is fetched through a proxy, because a browser is not allowed to read pixels from another site directly. Cropping still happens on your device.

How to crop an image

  1. Select a file, paste it from the clipboard, drag it in, or take a photo.
  2. Choose a preset or draw the crop area. Rotate, straighten or auto-trim the borders if needed.
  3. Set the output format, an exact size or a file-size limit, then download or print.

Frequently asked questions

Is CropMe really free?

Yes. There is no limit on how many images you crop, no watermarks and no sign-up.

Are my images uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser and files never leave your device. The only exception is “crop from URL”, which fetches that one image through a proxy before cropping it locally.

Which formats are supported?

You can open JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF and SVG. You can save as JPG, PNG or WEBP.

How large can an image be?

Up to 100 MB per file. A very large crop may be saved slightly smaller if it exceeds what your browser can render — CropMe shows the exact output size before you download and warns you when that happens.

Can I make the file smaller than a specific size?

Yes. Set a limit in kilobytes and CropMe picks the highest quality that fits, reducing the size only if quality alone is not enough. Choose JPG or WEBP for the smallest result.

What happens to EXIF data?

Location, camera and date metadata are always removed from the exported file, and the editor lists what it found before you save. Orientation is applied automatically, so photos are never saved rotated the wrong way.

Does it work offline?

After the first visit, yes. Install CropMe from your browser menu and it keeps working without a connection.
